In my time as a Graphic Designer and specific expertise, I found myself designing countless lead magnets, guides, and ebooks for businesses and brands, and each one has always reminded me that an ebook isn’t just a digital file, and this is why I love making them. I think eBook's are little bundles of inspiration that feel fun, effortless, and a little playful especially when made in Canva.
Even though I am skilled in Adobe and have an advanced toolkit, Canva funny enough, is still my favorite platform for designing eBooks and PDFs. The best part? You don’t need to be a professional designer to create something beautiful. Even as a beginner, you can design a stunning eBook in Canva, let's learn how to make one together!
"Creativity takes courage." – Henri Matisse

If you’ve ever wondered, how long will it take to create an ebook in Canva? Well, with the right template it's possible to have your eBook done in less than a day or even within 30 minutes, no matter your skill level.
Canva is attractive for all kinds of makers because it so just so dang simple to use!
This includes:
Intuitive drag-and-drop workflow.
A dreamy library of fonts, stock photos, and layouts right at your finger tips.
Multiple formats to fit every need: so many types of Canva files, and top-of-the-line PDF and other download formats.
You have plenty of options when it comes to finding eBook templates, whether that’s on Etsy, through a quick search, or directly in Canva. Naturally, I recommend checking out Hayes Edit Studio.
"Design is thinking made visual." – Saul Bass

Once you have your template, take a break and think about what you're making! I will always before I dive into designing, pause and reflect: who will cozy up to this ebook? What feelings do I want to leave them with?
That pause shapes my font, color, and layout decisions and gives me the clarity I need to make my eBook quickly with direct impact and focus. Templates are so many people's secret shortcut. Templates give structure without burning away at personality and your previous time.

How to Make an eBook in Canva (After Choosing Your Template)
Duplicate Your Template | Always begin by making a copy of the original template. Think of it as your safety net so you can experiment freely while keeping the base design intact.
Curate Your Page Layouts | Look through the template and choose the pages you actually need. Delete the extras and duplicate the ones you’ll use most, like content spreads, checklists, or chapter dividers.
Drop in Your Content | Replace the placeholder text with your own words. Keep paragraphs short, add subheadings, and use bullet points where it fits. This makes your eBook easy to read and visually inviting.
Customize with Your Brand | Update fonts and colors to reflect your brand identity. Canva’s “Change All” feature makes this quick and seamless. Upload your logo, photos, or any custom graphics to bring everything together.
Add Your Personality | This is where your eBook comes to life. Sprinkle in quotes, icons, or textures that capture your brand’s mood. Even the smallest details can make it feel uniquely yours.
Refine the Flow | Check the structure: introduction, main content, conclusion, and a resource or call-to-action page. The flow should feel natural and gently guide the reader from start to finish.
Final Touches | Take a moment to double-check typography, spacing, and alignment. A clean, thoughtful design always feels professional. Do one last scroll-through to catch anything you might have missed.
Export Your eBook | Save it as a PDF for sharing or selling. You can also download individual PNGs or JPEGs if you’d like to repurpose pages on social media.
Publish & Share | Share your eBook with confidence, whether it’s for email subscribers, clients, or your shop. Remember, it’s more than just a PDF—it’s a beautiful extension of your brand.
The only thing left is to begin. Now, make your move.Your eBook is ready to shine.
